Pulse8 team has gained experienced physiotherapist Jaclyn McGibbony of Physio 2 Function working from for the team Tuesday, Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays
Jaclyn brings with her a wealth of knowledge ranging from general musculoskeletal, sporting injuries and her passion movement dysfunction.
She has worked in the bayside area since 2003 when she began Myotherapy (Adv. Diploma sports massage) then continued working throughout her uni days studying her Bachelor of Physiotherapy.
Having participated in regular clinical pilates herself, she completed the DMA levels 1-4 Pilates course in her final year at uni, then likewise once she discovered yoga more the past few year, she wanted to teach what she practiced so completed her 200hr Hatha yoga teacher training and visited India.
Jaclyn also brings many sports skills, having competed in netball at st state netball centre all throughout her teenage years, she also worked in the AFL with Hawthorn, at the AO tennis as a female masseur, worked with the West Indies cricket team on an australian tour and still works with her favourite sport surfing as part of the medical team for the WSL tour, a position she has held since 2014 as a physiotherapist and events prior as a massage therapist
With her Pilates and Hatha yoga training, she has developed a class known as “Functional Flow” series where the classes are small of 1:8 so it is semi-tailored to clients needs. Movements are incorporated with co-ordination, vestibular, core, strength, movement patterns & breath so you get a very functional whole body workout that is safe and easy to achieve through common movement positions. All appointments including the Functional flow are claimable through Private health insurance and with the HICAPS terminal it means you only have to pay the gap on the day, your health insurance will pay the other portion. She also accepts clients under the EPC Medicare agreement.
Jaclyn enjoys competing her continued education requirements taking a variety of courses on different conditions, different approaches, different professionals and in different parts of the world so her approach is very holistic and involving the whole body involving a neuro-orthopedic approach to movement.
